I will never forget her response when I complimented her on her squeaky clean and super organized apartment: "I'm German!" So many things will make me think of her: autumn splendour, Bob Evans, Cappuccino, Steve Earle, Indoor Plumbing, earplugs, the flower clock, pergrine "birdies", bags'o'bargoons, ablutions, diligent tooth brushing, plastic bins, the CBC, $mas, Harbourfront, Google, 300 thread count sheets, Little India, schtollen, The Mum Show, Denninger's, matches in the bathroom, architecture, cornflower blue, laminators, the Wall'o'Chocalte, fridge magnets, cheap hotels, and Buffalo of course. God, I will truly miss her and the influence she has been on me.
You'd think I'd have something profound to say here, but.. wow, that felt like a suckerpunch - even though I've been expecting the news to come soon. I'm so sorry, Jo.
I know. I know I know I know. I wandered around the house all day baking key lime pies and musing about the colour cornflower blue. It really hasn't hit me yet.
The service will likely be on Wednesday, her birthday, but no venue has been secured yet. I'll keep you posted.
I'm so sorry to hear this. *hugs* Take solace in the fact that she's not suffering anymore. It's how I got through my grandmother's eerily similar death.
I'm here trying to check in for our flights back to Halifax and decided to try to google my sister. What a surprise. I had no idea. I'm thrilled. and touched. I miss her so much. My sisters-in-law have been staying in Angela's apartment and everybody left tonight - it was so sad to leave downtown....Linda

My sister and I used to say, irreverent as we are, so and so has "gone to be with Elvis". My new line is She's gone to be with 2Pac.
:)
Which, after all, is a better place.
